Teresa Gaye Moran (née Cagley) born April 2, 1965 in Coos Bay, Oregon to Samuel Don Cagley and Janet Gay Cagley youngest of three, passed away surrounded by loved ones November 29, 2023 in Renton, Washington.
Teresa spent her early years between Oregon and Alaska until her family settled permanently in Ketchikan, Alaska. There, she enrolled in Ketchikan Theater Ballet pursuing a love of dance she had since grade school. She attended Ketchikan High School, where she participated in cheerleading for 3 years. Summers were spent working at Westflight and Temsco, the local Airlines, which fueled her love of aviation.
After graduating from high school in 1983, Teresa attended Oregon State University. In 1986 she returned to Alaska to pursue her dream of becoming a Flight Attendant for Alaska Airlines. During her career as a Flight Attendant she resided in Portland, Newport Beach, and eventually settled in Seattle. Some people may have collected mementos along the way, Teresa collected friendships, most of which lasted a lifetime.
In 1991 Teresa reconnected with Ketchikan friend Barney Moran at a dinner with family in Seattle. This led to a courtship that culminated with a wedding on June 6, 1992 in Ketchikan, Alaska. Their first child, Kathleen, followed in 1992, Samuel in 1994, Michael in 1996 and finally Steven in 1998.
Teresa resigned from Alaska Airlines in 1999 to fully focus on raising her family. She worked part time from 2005-2013 at the school their children attended, St. Anthony, as an Instructional Aide. She was loved by all her students and enjoyed being involved in school activities. In 2015 Teresa chose to pursue her true passion once again and returned to Alaska Airlines as a Flight Attendant.
Teresa was widely known to have the biggest heart and the most welcoming soul. When not running kids around to Irish dance classes, baseball, soccer or football practices, she loved to travel and spend time with her friends and family. Her girls weekends, with her Ketchikan girlfriends and her St. Anthony mom friends, were always some of her favorite events of the year. She was an avid Fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and Kraken, she loved going to games and hosting big watch parties at their house. She never lost her love for the Oregon State Beavs (even though she did adopt the Cougs and Fighting Sioux as her teams with her kids attending those schools). Teresa also loved country concerts, she attended Watershed multiple times and if there was a country concert happening, she was likely there. She had a lifelong affinity for horses and never missed an opportunity to interact with them. Even with her cancer diagnosis she kept a very positive attitude and had the most admirable strength, she never let it slow her down or keep her from missing out on her favorite things.
Teresa was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Timothy Moran, sister-in-law Bridget Moran, father-in-law, William G. Moran and uncle Orville Oren Cagley. Teresa is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bernard Thomas Moran, mother Janet Cagley, father Samuel Cagley, brothers: Steve Cagley (Kelley) and Scott Cagley (Vicki), daughter Kathleen, sons: Samuel, Michael and Steven, mother-in-law Mary Frances Moran, brothers-in-law: Joseph (Angela), William (Anita), Michael (Terry), Matthew (Anne), Patrick (Monica), sisters-in-law: Mary, Margaret Dour (Commander Paul Dour, UNS, deceased), Agnes (Zac), Helen Klein (Edward) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
