Erna Irene Roth

Erna was an amazing, caring woman and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Erna was born on June 16th, 1923, New Salem, ND to Christ J. and Elizabeth (Scheck) Metzger. Erna was raised and educated on a farm in the Glen Ullin/Hebron area.

Erna married Arnold Roth on December 15th, 1941. They farmed near Hebron and later moved into Glen Ullin. In 1956 Erna and Arnold moved to Washington State with their six children, LaVonne Roth (Thornton), Darvin Roth, Charlotte Roth (Buss), Donald Roth, Phyllis Roth (Mutschler) and Ardella Roth (VanEtten). Arnold worked as a heavy equipment operator for NW Construction for many years. Arnold & Erna built their retirement home in the Issaquah, WA, area where they have lived since 1972. Arnold passed away on January 11th, 2007. Erna remained in the family home until her passing on September 29th, 2014.

Erna is survived by seven out of her fourteen siblings Bernice Kinnischtzke, Helen Sailer, Raymond Metzger, Levi Metzger, Florence Zimmerman, Geraldine Rebel and Gary Metzger.

Survivors include their six children, ten grandchildren Tracy Thornton, Michelle Thornton (Waterman), Mark Roth, Steve Roth, Tammy Buss (Alejandre), Tom Buss, Troy Roth, Jason Roth, Christopher Mutschler and Dan Mutschler: and 14+ great grandchildren Kyle, Heather, Jordan, Ryan, Joaquin, Julia, Fischer, Destiny, Gage, Ayden, Sarah, David John, Nathan and Jacob.
