Choy Lo is survived by his wife, Yian Hin Saeteurn; his children: Kao Yian, Nailo, David, Tan Lo, and Steve. He is predeceased by his son Kalo and his eldest daughter Meuy Lo; his grandchildren: Laylilah, Aaliyah, Zachary, DJ, Elizabeth, and Josiah; his siblings Ou Chio, Lu Chio, Muang Chio, Farm Chio, and Marn Chio, and predeceased by Kao Chio, Lo Chio, Sou Chio, Nai Chio, and Feuy Chio.
He was born in the rural villages of Ban Phou Hua Xang, in Xayaburi, Laos on July 2, 1960. He was the third eldest, born to Fou Chio Saeteurn and Koy Ian Saechao. Choy Lo was born in Laos, but sought refuge in Soptuang Refugee Camp in Thailand, after the Secret War in hopes of safety and a better life. In 1985, he immigrated to America. In February of 2003, Choy Lo was able to achieve his dream of a better life by becoming a United States Citizen and was he was so proud to become an American.
Choy Lo was a devoted father and adored his grandchildren, wanting to spend his time looking after them and raising them. He was selfless, caring, adventurous (he went skydiving once), and loved fishing and the outdoors. He was a faithful follower of Christ, loved God, served with a kind heart, and enjoyed singing traditional Iu-Mien songs.
He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, his community, and all who knew him. He knew how to make an impact on everyone that he met and his smile will be imprinted in you.
