Charles Clinton Peterson

Charles Clinton Peterson, AKA: Chuck, Clint, Pete, passed away on February 11, 2021 from complications with a brain bleed. Clint was born in Burke, South Dakota on June 25, 1935. He was the son of Charles Peterson and Gail Guiles. He moved to the Kent area with his father in high school and graduated from Kent Meridian. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army and served as a radio technician after which he returned to Kent and was known as the “Boy on the Lake with a Boat” which caught the attention of Judy Thompson. Clint and Judy were engaged by Christmas of 1958 and married on August 8, 1959. This past summer they celebrated 61 years of marriage. He worked for over 35 years at IBM at Boeing in Kent as a computer technician and.

Clint is remembered by his loving wife and seven children: Chuck (Nancy Brenneman), Johna (David Thomson), Paige (Tim Patrick), Colin (Kris Bearss), Cameron (Tanya Brown), Darcey, and Keely (James Hogan). He was a wonderful grandfather of 25 and a great-grandfather of 10, as well as 5 heavenly babies.

He loved working with his hands, often working alongside his sons in the construction industry and sharing his many talents and gifts. Dad was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington. He had a heart of stewardship, faithfully serving with the Knights of Columbus, St Vincent de Paul and at Pregnancy Aid of Kent and Tacoma. He was a scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 480. He and mom also spent many wonderful years Square Dancing with Wagon Wheels of Kent.

Family service will be 11:00am at St. John the Baptist of Covington on Tuesday, February 16.
