Barbara Ann Miller

Mrs. Barbara Ann Miller (Amerson), age 71, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, in Seattle, Washington. She was born on December 16, 1952. in Louisville, Mississippi, to Essie Lee Miller and Willie B. Miller.

Barbara graduated from Greenville High School in 1969 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Childhood Development from Alabama A&M University in 1973. In 1974, she moved to Seattle, Washington, where she began her career at Group Health Medical Center. In 1977, she transitioned to the United States Postal Service, where she worked with dedication until her retirement in 2021.

In 1984, Barbara met the love of her life, Ronald Amerson, and the two were wed on August 16, 1985. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family. Barbara was a devoted mother to Charles (Nicole) Miller of Orlando, Florida, and Ronald (Collette) Amerson Jr., and a proud grandmother to Avery Amerson, Malik Miller, Amina Miller, and Raheem Miller.

Barbara was baptized at Holgate Street Church of Christ and later attended Southside Church of Christ, where she was a faithful and active member. Renowned for her exceptional cooking and baking, Barbara delighted in sharing her culinary talents with loved ones and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Her warmth, generosity, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Essie Lee Miller and Willie B. Miller; brother, W.L. Hickman; sister, Sarah Ann Murphy; niece, Loretta Moorer; and great-nephews, Marcale Gregory and Russell Gregory.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her beloved siblings: Leroy Miller, Lillian Miles, and Carry Lee (Claudia) Miller of Cleveland, Ohio; Tom (Linda) Hickman of Greenville, Alabama; Lucinda (Charlie) Pugh and Pauline Randolph of Huntsville, Alabama; and Lee Jr. (Vivian) Miller of Clarksville, Tennessee. Barbara is also survived by a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
