The family of Robert “Bob” Raymond Bruce sadly announces the passing of their beloved father and grandfather. Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the age of 95, on December 11th, 2023. Bob was born in Regina on June 11th, 1928, and grew up on his family farm a mile south of Kronau, SK.
Bob met the love of his life, Louise, in Lajord, SK, where they married in 1950 and started their family. They had four wonderful children, Randy, David, Vida and Kelly. While living in Lajord, Bob continued to farm in Kronau. In 1967, the family moved to a new home on his childhood homestead, where he lived until his passing. For years, the farm was the physical centre of the family, which supplied many cherished memories that will bring the family joy for years to come.
Bob and his wife Louise were very involved in their community. Bob and Louise shared a love of curling, which they passed on to their children. They both participated in numerous bonspiels and collected many curling pins that were displayed in their home. When they moved back to Kronau, they were heavily involved with the Terry Fox walks and other community events.
Bob is predeceased by his loving wife Louise (2011), brothers Morley and Charlie, and sisters Evelyn and Charlotte. Bob leaves behind his loving children, Randy (Joyce), David, Vida (Rod), Kelly (Carla), grandchildren Curtis (Greg), Colin (Nadège), Carly (Jon), Byron (Cathy), Julianne, great-grandchildren Chloe, Joni, Sloane and Sydney, as well as brother Bert and sister Lois.
Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa will always be in our memories as a loving, caring, humorous man who loved the farming way of life, and we are thankful for all the time that we had with him.
Bob’s interment will take place at the Lajord cemetery this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Terry Fox Foundation
