Mr. Nick Kostiuk

Born January 1, 1921 in the Southey District

Nick Kostiuk, at 92 years young, surrounded with the love of his family and friends, fell asleep in the Lord on September 13, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife, Nettie, in 2005; parents Dumitru and Domnica; siblings Bill, Jean, Freda and Laura. Nick is survived by his daughters Brenda Kostiuk and Linda Martin; his grandsons Cary, Shane and Chad and their father, Dennis Martin; his sisters Mary, Eva and Gloria (Bill); his brother Leon (Hannah), sister-in-law Lena, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dad's true passion was farming and when he no longer worked his farmland, he devoted his many talents to his home, yard and garden. Dad's desire was to remain in his own home as long as possible. With support and encouragement from family and friends, along with his strong work ethic, capability and determination, he was able to achieve that goal. He was proud and very happy to have been blessed with that ability. Prayers will be said on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 7:00 pm at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 2005 Edgar Street, Regina, SK (wheelchair accessible). Funeral service will be held at the Church on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Fr. Cosmin Sicoe and Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Nenson officiating. Refreshments immediately following both services. Interment at Southey Cemetery at approximately 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 2005 Edgar Street, Regina, SK or St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, 1770 St. John Street, Regina, SK.
