With deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Luke Shane Smoker, age 25, on Monday, September 9, 2019 at his home in Regina, SK. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was born on September 3, 1994 in Melville, SK. Luke is predeceased by his grandparents on both sides. Luke is survived by his mother Gloria Smoker (Alton); father Linus Lerat; step-parents Leonard and Donna Umpherville; siblings Devonnie, Dakota, William, Megan, Maddison, Jorden, Natasha, Brent, Patrick, Tiffany, Brittney, and Derek; aunties and uncles Valarie, Cindy, Jessie, Fredrick, Donald, Douglas, Donavon, and many more. Luke was a caring father to his step kids, he loved his nieces, and he was a warm, loving young man that cared for everyone. He loved to be around his friends and also enjoyed fixing bikes. He loved hip-hop and rap music, and he also liked football and basketball. A Traditional Wake is to be held at Kahkewistahaw First Nation Community Hall on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will also be held at the Kahkewistahaw First Nation Community Hall on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The Burial will follow the service at the Family Cemetery on Kahkewistahaw.
