Kenneth Paul Larsen

Ken passed away unexpectedly on Sunday July 31, 2016 at Regina General Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He leaves behind to mourn, his wife Karen (nee Bernhauser); sons Nicolas and Mark, brothers: Dale (Pat); Barry (Lori); sister Karen (Andy); sister-in-law Patti (Kevin); brothers-in-law Brent (Donna); Ryan (Jae Navid). He was loved and very proud of his nieces and nephews: Dustin, Amber, Sienna; Chris, Laurel, Ian; Amanda, Anna; Jada, Kayla; Kelsey, MacKenzie.

Predeceased by his parents, Carl and Iona Larsen and brother Johnny, and in-laws Bill and Donna Bernhauser.

Ken was born and raised in Radville, SK. He grew up on the family vegetable farm, where he acquired his strong work ethic. He attended high school at Western Christian College in Weyburn, and then SIAST in Moose Jaw, taking Electronic Technology. Ken was employed for 26 years with GE Medical Systems servicing Xray, Ultrasound and MRI systems and most recently with Toshiba Medical. Ken loved his job and especially the "tough" fixes. During his career, he went the extra mile with his clients and was well known for his customer care. Ken met Karen in Brandon, MB in the summer of 1990. Even though it appeared they were opposites, he knew Karen was the one and that it was meant to be. They were married on September 21st, 1991. In 1994 they welcomed their first son Nicolas and three years later Mark. They were his pride and joy. They moved to Regina in 1997. Ken enjoyed coaching and being involved on their many sports teams. Ken loved taking pictures and was famous for his slideshows; birthdays, weddings, vacations and especially the hockey videos that were shared with the whole team. Ken prided himself on being able to fix anything and was the go-to guy for advice and any tool you needed. No matter the situation, he would say "we will come up with something". Like his dad Carl, Ken could strike up a conversation with ANYONE and had a unique talent for connecting with people, especially young people. He genuinely cared what they had to say and encouraged them in their pursuits. Ken was everyone’s biggest fan, he encouraged us and never failed to say how proud he was of us all. Ken never turned away any kid in need of a place to stay and the Larsen door was always open. He enjoyed all the friends that his boys brought over. Ken was non-judgmental; he found the good in everyone and never gave up on them. He enjoyed family and friends but his best times were being with Karen, Nick and Mark.

Strangers were friends, friends were family and family was gold.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 4th, 2016, at 7:00 pm at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East. Funeral Mass will be Friday, August, 5th, 2016, at 10:30 am at Holy Family Parish, 1021 McCarthy Blvd, N.
