Jean Button

She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Roy Button, daughter Diane Balkwill; grandson Jeremy; granddaughter Jennifer; brother Frank Simpson; sister Clarese Pickering as well as other extended family members.

Left to honor her memory are son Doug; his children Brendan (Keria) great - grandchildren Jacob and Simon; Nicholas; Chantelle (Cody) great- grandchild Maryn; daughter Michele (Lyn); their children Alex (Tania) great – grandchildren Isla and Elowyn; Kerri; son James; and his children Amber and Justin; daughter Diane’s two sons Christopher (Lena); Sean and great -grandchild Lillian; brother Ron Simpson (Gloria); brother in law Gordon Button as well as many nieces, nephews ,cousins and friends.

Jean graduated from nursing in 1954 from Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina. Most of her nursing journey was spent at the Wascana Rehabilitation Center, where she devoted herself to the well-being of the children under her care. Jean was more than a nurse; she was a trusted confidante and advisor to family and friends and a phone call away in times of medical uncertainty, Jean's caring guidance brought comfort to those in need. Beyond her commitment to nursing, Jean was a part of the farming community near Wilcox, working alongside her beloved husband, Stanley.

Family was everything to Jean, and she cherished every opportunity to gather with her siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren. Whether celebrating milestones or simply enjoying each other's company, these moments were treasured by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of Jean's close-knit circle. Jean's warm heart extended beyond blood ties, embracing friends with the same love and care she reserved for family.

Summers held a special place in Jean's heart, as she eagerly anticipated the gatherings with friends at Buffalo View. The lake became a backdrop for cherished memories, laughter, and relaxation, creating a tradition that will be fondly remembered. Jean had a profound sense of humor, family and friends could always count on her for a good laugh.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ashton Manor and Parkside Care Home for all the love, respect and care you showed mom these last 5 years. You were her special extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jean to Telemiracle or the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be announced at a later date.
