As well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Catherine was born on July 5, 1926 on a farm in the Viceroy District. She was the second eldest daughter of Michael and Margaret Schenher and grandchild of Peter and Frances Schenher. In 1929, she along with her dad, mother, and two sisters, moved to a farm four miles north of Glasnevin in the Ogema District. Her family grew to include four more sisters and three brothers. When her mother tragically passed away in 1945, Catherine and her sisters and brothers helped their dad in looking after their younger siblings, especially Ed who was six and Irene who was only four. In 1947, she and her sister Frances spent a winter employed in a factory in St. Catherine’s, Ontario. Catherine married Jack Seis on October 28, 1948 in Horizon, SK. They lived on the family farm near Horizon, raising a family of three children before moving into town in 1957 and then moving to Regina in 1961. They were planning on buying a house when Jack suddenly passed away in April 1966. In 1974 Catherine moved into her home in the Lakeview area of Regina, close to Hill Avenue strip mall where she walked to buy groceries at Lakeview Fine Foods. She enjoyed gardening and spending time at the Knit and Chat with the ladies from Christ the King Parish. Catherine moved to Olga’s Care Home in 2015 and then to Grace within Care in 2020. She had excellent care at both homes until her passing. For that we are extremely grateful. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK. with the service to be livestreamed. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Catherine’s name to Christ the King Parish Ministry of Care. Due to continuing restrictions there will be no reception following the service.
