Lucia V. Marquez has gone to be with the Lord on March 27, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1940 on the family farm in Gillette, Texas to Sylvestre and Nieves Valerio. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. At the age of 16 she married Jose Marquez and had 3 children. They moved to Pasadena, California in 1965. The LA area was to busy for them so they decided to go further north and wound up in Kingsburg. They lived their Approximately 6 to 7 years then decided to move once more to Sanger, until their passing.
She was employed by Kings River Elementary School for 37 years until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Jose Marquez, her parents Sylvestre and Nieves
Valerio, her brother Ray Paul Valerio, her nephew Joe Sanchez as well as her brother in laws and sister
in laws on both sides of her family.
She is survived by her children, Raul Marquez wife Hermie, Sylvia Hernandez husband Manuel and Luis Marquez wife Sabrina. Sisters; Lydia Sanchez husband Ernie, Lusinda Briones, Linda Valerio, Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by those who knew her.
A visitation for Lucia will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Annadale Baptist Church, 1511 14th St, Sanger, CA 93657. A church service will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1511 14th St, Sanger, CA 93657. A committal service will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sanger Cemetery, 568 S Rainbow Route, Sanger, CA 93657.
