Uncle Frank was a ball player! I remember one year we had 10 family members on a Slo-pitch softball team in Reedley. We won the league because we had the best pitcher. Uncle Frank put a spin on the ball that was very hard to hit. He was competitive but also gracious when one of us “young ones” made an error. Loved those days!

Frank was a great man, and a great uncle.  Always kind and gracious to everyone, even his rascally nephews!  Always generous in sharing his time, resources, and sense of humor.  Boy, did he have a great laugh!  Always genuine in his caring for people, whether family, friends, fellow church members, or anyone else who might need some care.  
What stood out clearly to me was that Frank was always faithful.  Faithful to his family, his church and to his other commitments.  He was so until the end.  
One of the things I looked forward to when I would visit Mom as Sierra View was meeting Frank and "his boys" for coffee in the mornings.  He was always there early and had everything set up for the group.  My guess is there were days when he was the only one that came, yet that did not stop him from showing up, setting up, and cleaning up.
Some mornings when I went out to join them Frank would be sitting there by himself, waiting for the others.  I enjoyed those times of sharing with him, just the two of us, until others arrived.  Sometimes we spoke of Minnesota life, sometimes of Reedley life, and sometimes of eternal life. Those are cherished memories.  
What a great couple they were, Ruth and Frank.  What a gift to have known Frank and to have experienced their family.
Ruth, Ron, Linda, and your families, all the best and all comfort to you in this passage.  I join others in prayer for you as well.  Thanks for sharing your Frank with us and with the world.

I will really miss Uncle Frank.

I’m posting a picture of Uncle Frank and Aunt Ruth, taken at my Mom and Dad’s home in 2005. Whenever I remember Frank, I see him as he is in this picture, with an expression of joy and laughter, telling or enjoying a good story, and making everyone around him feel happy.

There are so many great times to recall with Frank and Ruth, whether at their home, or at family gatherings down through the years, as far back as I can remember. I’m grateful for the recent visits we’ve had with Frank and Ruth at their Sierra View place and at my Mom’s birthday party.

I always knew that Frank’s faith was central to his life. The light and love of Jesus always shone in his face. 

I pray daily for you, Ruth, and for you, Ron and Linda, and your families. Wishing you peace and comfort now that Frank is healed and safe in the presence of the Lord.

It was an Honor to have Frank as my Uncle.  I was blessed to have been able to enjoy spending time with Uncle Frank and Aunt Ruthie during my youth.  I recall spending several weekends at their new home when they lived on Ponderosa Avenue in Reedley during the 1950’s.  He and Aunt Ruthie were so giving and always so loving and kind.  My parents Gilbert and Loretta Unruh would often gather with Uncle Frank and Aunt Ruthie at my Grandparents Anna and Henry Unruh’s home in Reedley throughout the 1960’s.  Upon our family moving to Fresno in 1969 our families would gather for many celebrations as well as other events.

Uncle Frank set an example of the embodiment of a Christian.  He was always kind, caring, generous and loving.  He was honest and dedicated to his family.  Uncle Frank was also dedicated to his Community of Reedley.  I remember during the 1990s he was active in the Reedley Kiwanis Club.  He would regularly invite me to Kiwanis  Club meetings held at Reedley College to be a presenter. I would discuss new trends in law enforcement occurring throughout Fresno County.   I had been employed by the Fresno County Sheriffs Office and and later the District Attorneys Office. I was humbled and honored to share updates of public interest and public safety information to the Kiwanis Club members and the Reedley community.
Frank will always be remembered as a role model as he was a Godly, honorable man of integrity.   He will always be loved.
