George Wallace Woolcott, age 84, passed away on December 9th, 2024, at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington. He was the husband of Sharon (Ducharme) Woolcott. They shared 32 years of marriage, which is pretty special for second marriages.
Born on May 5th, 1940, in Wenatchee, WA, he was the son of Ray and Evelyn Woolcott. When he was one year old, they moved to Rose Hill in Kirkland, WA, and when he was six, they moved to property in Redmond, WA, off Avondale Way, where he grew up. He attended Redmond Grade School and graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1958. He continued his education at Everett Junior College, receiving his associate degree. He became a repair technician working at several different companies working with a variety of office equipment, from cash machines to super computers.
George enjoyed reading, particularly science fiction and fantasy novels. One of his favorite authors was Mark Twain. He loved photography and flying kites at Ocean Shores. After retirement he took up wood carving. His greatest asset was his sense of humor. He instilled a good work ethic in his children, leading by example.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, sisters Lorraine and Joyce, his children Mark, Russell (Aubrey), and Elizabeth (Joseph Custer), grandchildren Aidan, Connor, Coby, Rylie and Akeena; as well as former wife Emily. He was predeceased by his parents Ray and Evelyn and sister, Roberta.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 11:00 AM at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request that donations be made in George’s memory to the Parkinsons Foundation.
