Patricia Louise (Patty) Orr was born in Detroit, Michigan to David and Barbara Orr on January 8, 1942. A beloved Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt, Cousin and Friend; Patty passed away peacefully on June 15, 2017 at the age of 75. It was only fitting that she was born on Elvis' birthday as she was his biggest fan. She loved his music, and the man with all her heart. She also loved the color purple, bowling, wrestling, playing Chinese Checkers, riding her trike bike, chocolate, reading, General Hospital, kids and dogs - but most of all she wholeheartedly loved her family.
She had many adventures during her 75 years; born with cerebral palsy she attended school, belonged to a club for children with special needs, survived a plane crash (coming in wheels up on a foamed runway), traveled to Jamaica, the Bahamas, Florida, attended numerous parties; proms and dances, and recently sat ringside at a WWE Wrestling match. Patty is dearly loved by her family and friends; her unconditional love, caring heart, and spunk will be greatly missed. She unknowingly taught us all about life. She taught us to be determined, compassionate, accepting, caring, to embrace differences, to be tolerant and patient; and regardless the challenges that we face - we can do anything!
Her family will receive friends at a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. led by Deacon Steve Mitchell at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery 25800 W. Ten Mile Road (at Beech Daily), Southfield, MI 48033. Patty will be laid to rest beside her parents. Luncheon to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Metro Detroit 23077 Greenfield Road, Suite 205 Southfield, Mi 48075 (248) 557-5070 or (800) 827-4843 http://www.ucpdetroit.org/donate
