Douglas D. Davidson, age 77, of [City], Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024. Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 6, 1947, to the late Russell and Naomi Davidson, Doug's life was one of dedication, creativity, and joy.
Doug was the beloved husband of the late Susan Davidson, who preceded him in death. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Donna (Ronnie) Taylor and sister-in-law JoAnn Davidson, and his nieces and nephews: Lisa Piontek, Robert Hammond, Laura Kanclerz, Richard Hammond, Russell Davidson, and Christopher Davidson. Doug was also preceded in death by his brothers, Russell (Lorraine) and Charles Davidson, who will forever remain in his heart.
Doug earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Wayne State University, and enjoyed a rewarding career as a Systems Developer, dedicating many years of service before retiring. His career was marked by a passion for problem-solving and technology, and he always took pride in his work.
Outside of his professional life, Doug was a man of many talents and interests. A gifted musician, he began playing the harmonica and accordion at the age of 12, and over the years, he mastered a variety of instruments, including the piano and guitar. His love for music led him to become an active member of local Barber Shop Choirs, where he shared his talent and enthusiasm with others. He also was an Amatuer Radio Operator from the time he built his first radio at 14, he had his own station K8WUZ.
Doug was also an avid traveler and outdoorsman. He found great joy in taking his beloved Boston Whaler boat out on the Gulf of Mexico, and he cherished the many trips he made with family and friends. Doug's zest for life, curiosity about the world, and warmth of spirit made him a friend to all who knew him.
Though Doug is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
