Patricia Jean Cox was born on August 10, 1937 in San Jose, California to Paul Cunningham and Inez Francis Morton. As a young girl, she moved to Redding and attended elementary and junior high school. It was at Cypress Elementary where she would meet her future husband, Richard (Dick) Wilcox, during a game of Red Rover. During her years at Shasta High School, Patty and Dick were married and soon started their family of seven children, Janet, Wendi, Rick, Brad, Debbie, Christine, and Mitch.
After her children had grown, she worked as a waitress in Redding, before spending 40+ years working at the Holiday Inn in Redding and Chico, as a Banquet Manager and later as the Catering Manager. She spent her last 10 working years as the Apartment Manager for Park Marina Village in Redding, where she was fondly known as “Park Marina Patty”. Her proudest accomplishment through the years was her family. She enjoyed spending as much time with each of them as she possibly could.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband Dick (1993), son Brad (1976), daughter Debbie (2015), and granddaughter Taylor McCain (1997).
She leaves behind her loving children and their spouses Janet Pulizzi, Wendi Wilcox, Rick Wilcox (Terri), Christine Dickinson (Preston) and Mitch Wilcox (Michelle). Her sister Susan Greenberg and brother William Cox (Juanita). She adored her eight grandchildren and their spouses Wyatt Dickinson (Quintana), Ricki Brockman (Jesse), Emily Flaman (Scott), Wesley, Samantha, Hayden, Logan (Viviana), Anna, and her seven great-grandchildren Audree, Bradley, Ducatti, Claire, Benelli, Magnolia, and Sylos. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her greatly. Her love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A graveside service for Patricia will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 at 9:00 AM at Lawncrest Memorial Park, 1522 E. Cypress Ave., Redding, California.
