With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Martin Larzabal Sr., 80, on January 21, 2024, in Red Bluff, California. His life, began on November 3, 1943, in San Francisco, California as the beloved son of Martin and Veronica Larzabal.
The Larzabal family moved to Red Bluff to begin raising sheep. John's journey led him through Shasta College & Chico State, where he forged enduring friendships, and laid the groundwork for a life dedicated to hard work and perseverance. After his education, he embarked on a profound chapter, purchasing the Larzabal Ranch, a symbol of his unwavering commitment to his roots and to his community.
In 1963, John's path intertwined with JoAnn Lourence, whom he married in 1966. Their remarkable bond flourished for 57 years, a testament to love, loyalty, and shared dreams. Despite the passage of time, John remained tirelessly devoted to the ranch and his family. At the time of his passing he was still working on the ranch tending to his sheep and his daily chores that he loved.
In the quiet valleys and sprawling pastures, John's legacy thrives, woven into the fabric of the land he cherished. His presence, marked by resilience and dedication, will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him.
Surviving family members are: his beloved wife JoAnn, son John Larzabal, partner Maria Garcia, granddaughter Emily Larzabal, partner Ryan Daddino, great granddaughter Rynlee Daddino, daughter Michelle Larzabal Head, her husband Bobby Head, grandson Brayden Head, granddaughter Izabella Head and many cousins.
A service of remembrance will be held for family members. A Celebration of Life will be held in April.
