Edward W. Chupp passed away at home in his sleep Dec. 12, 2024. He was born in San Francisco, CA on Aug. 31, 1946. He was the eldest son of William E. Chupp and Carol Chupp. He was preceded in death by his brother, Allan Carl Chupp. He is survived by his wife, Adele, brother Samuel Joe Chupp, and sister Alice Carol Stearly.
Ed graduated from Balboa High School, San Francisco, CA in January 1965. He was in the ROTC as First Lieutenant where he excelled in Sharp Shooting. After high school, Ed joined the Navy and was stationed aboard the U. S. S. Tappahannock during the Vietnam war, Dec.12, 1967 to May 16, 1970, when he was honorably discharged.
Ed married Adele on Nov. 28, 1968, at the Park Wedding Chapel in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Red Bluff in 1972, then Gerber in 1974. Ed loved gardening, raising rabbits, and chickens. He liked photography and entered photos in the Tehama County Fair. He also enjoyed writing poems and stories. He became a Tehama County Sheriff reservist. He took courses at Shasta College in Computer Electronics and P. C. Repair. He served in the Tehama County Grand Jury from 1991 to 1992. He loved square dancing. He and his wife were members of the Swinging Squares in Red Bluff. He will be buried at the Tehama Cemetery in Gerber, CA. There won’t be any services. Arrangements will be made by Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers, Red Bluff, CA.
