Shirley Marie Johnson

Shirley was born in Reading on September 3, 1934 a daughter of the late Cecil C. and Gertrude C. (Lyles) Prentice. She was employed by R.M. Palmer Company as a candy decorator for over 25 years retiring there. Shirley was a 1952 Central Catholic graduate and was on the girls basketball team. She loved playing bingo, dancing and sports.

Surviving are her 3 children; Cheryl M. Brown widow of Michael E. Brown, Sr., Rae D. Johnson-Bundy and her husband, John L. Bundy, Ray W. Johnson,III and his wife Holly A. Johnson, step-son, Willard D. George, Sr., sister, Regina F. Prentice-Copeland, 4 grandchildren; Ashley Rae Vanlandingham, Taylor Rae Barnes, Austin Cassidy Bundy and Ray W. Johnson IV, and 6 great grandchildren; Jayvion, Rae Ann, Mikaiya, Zelda, Rafael and Tae-yang.

Shirley was predeceased by her siblings; Imogene Summers, Cecil Prentice, Jr., Charles Prentice, Miriam Prentice-Muldrow, Roberta Battle and Gerald Prentice, Sr.

A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Theo C Auman, 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601.
