Gladys Mae Smith

Gladys M. (Strunk) Smith, 102 years of age, of West Wyomissing, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Mifflin Center, Shillington. She was the loving wife of the late Earl C. Smith, Sr. Sadly Earl passed in 1989.

Born in Reading on December 16, 1915, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Mabel M. (Sommers) Strunk.

Gladys will be in the hearts of her family forever, three sons: E. Charles Smith and his wife Rhea E., Robert C. Smith and his wife, Roberta and Michael C. Smith and his wife, Sandra and a daughter, Gayle M. (Smith) Vargas and her husband, Steve.

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Christopher Smith and his wife, Krista and their daughters, Marissa and Sonja, Stephen Smith and his wife, Susan and their sons, Trevor and Jeremy, Stephanie Keita and her son, Jaigan and sadly predeceased by 4 year old great grandson, Johbis Kieta, who was lost to an AVM in early 2018.

Gladys was blessed with three step granddaughters, Nicole Stover and her husband, Michael, Amanda Phillips and her husband, David and Stephanie Lambert and her husband Eric, whom between them have 6 great grandchildren to Gladys: Coulson and Aander Phillips, Micayla and Quinn Lambert and Amelia and Harrison Stover.

Services will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11am in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. A viewing will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 to 11am. Gladys will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
