Eugene W. Artz, 92, of Exeter Township, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Born on December 11, 1929, in Reading, PA he was a cherished son to the late Clarence B. Artz and Naomi (Floyd) Artz.
Eugene was the beloved husband of the late Ardell M. (Wagner) Artz, father to Douglas Artz (Sherry), and grandfather to Joseph (Moria) and Christopher (Celine); and great grandfather to Collin, Brandon, Ryan and Madison.
In addition to his parents and his wife Ardell, Eugene was greeted in heaven his son Ricki Lee Artz and his 3 brothers Jack F. Artz, Kenneth Artz and Robert Artz.
Eugene was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Penn and The Lions Club.
Eugene proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on March 1, 1960, with the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-6). Upon his return to civilian life, he made a career as a machinist at U.S. Axle Inc., and with DANA Corp.; having worked for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1994.
In his spare time, Eugene could be found on the golf course, singing and playing the piano or playing tennis. However, above all else, he was a dedicated family man who absolutely treasured spending time with his family. He was a kind, happy, funny, and charismatic man who always tried to make the next person smile or laugh. The light he leaves behind will continue to lie on the paths of all who had the good fortune to know him.
