Juanita Lane Helton, 72, passed away on May 20. Juanita was born in Lockland on June 30, 1943, to her devoted mother, Carmel Surber (nee Sowder) and Sidney Helton. Juanita passed away peacefully after an extended illness. Healthy), and by Robert "Bob" Sowder of Lockland. Juanita is survived only by cousins: Lynn Hillman (nee Sowder), of Durham, NC, John Hugh Sowder, of Chapel Hill, NC, and Evelyn Nichols, of Miamisburg. She will be remembered by members of the Southern Baptist Church community, where she was brought up in the Trinitarian tradition, as a singer of hymns and a reader of scripture; by the many members of the staff, and residents, of the Home at Taylor's Pointe, where Juanita resided for many years; by staff members at Goodwill Industries, where she worked for many years; and by classmates in Lockland Schools.
