Sister Ann Langemeier (Sister Mary Winifred), a sister of Notre Dame de Namur, died on December 20, 2011, at the age of 82 in the 64th year of her religious life. Her passing is mourned by her sister Winifred Langemeier Riley (John), her sisters in Notre Dame, her devoted nieces and nephews and her many friends and past pupils. Sister Ann taught at Holy Angels School, St. Augustine School, and St. Susanna School, in Cincinnati; at St. Robert Bellarmine School in Chicago IL; St. Eugene School in Detroit MI; and St. Mary School in Hamilton OH; Twenty-five of her 46 years of teaching were spent at Holy Family School in Dayton OH.
Sister Ann was known for her enthusiastic love of teaching. Her students held a special place in her heart and she requested that the list of student names, which she compiled over the years, be placed in her casket. She was proud of her English heritage (her mother came to the U.S. from England) and she had a special devotion to the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, St. Julie Billiart. Sister Ann was loved and admired by all who knew her.
