Gordan Lamar Land, 86, died Sunday July 8, 2012 at MS Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday July 11, 2012 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, preceded by visitation at 9:00am. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery.
Gordan was born in Kosciusko, MS to Raymond T. and Velma Land. He served in the US Marine Corps 2nd Division in the Pacific Theatre and was awarded the Purple Heart. He served the Raymond Community as owner of Land’s Auto Sales.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Craig Henry; brother, James Land; sisters, Doris Quave and Elaine Farthing; and son-in-law, George Brock. Survivors include his wife of 69 years Inez Patterson Land of Raymond; children, Geraldine Banes(Charlie) of Raymond, Charlene Brock of Raymond, Charlotte Henry (Maxie) of Vicksburg, and Melissa Washburn (John) of Raymond; grandchildren, Sandra Stocks (Chad), Janet Mohler(Chuck), Lea Kirby (Tim), Amanda Coutch (Phillip), Collin Brock (Charlis), David Henry (Amy), Daniel Henry (Jennifer),Ben Washburn (Kristy) and Jessica Walters (Ragan); great-grandchildren, Carly, Ty, Seth, John Mark, Justin, Jake, Allie, Kate, Bryce, Audrey Layne, Caroline, and Jimmy; brother, W.T. (Bill) Land of Richland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
