He was born December 16, 1941, in Kimberly, West Virginia, to parents William McKinley and Pearl M. (Dolin) Lovejoy. He was affectionately known as Brownie to his family and friends.
Brownie had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Warren. He drove a cement mixer truck for Smith & Cowan Concrete in Ravenna, and later was a machinist with Permco Inc. in Streetsboro.
Brownie loved to play guitar and sing. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially when he was hunting or practicing his archery. Above all, he was devoted to his family.
Brownie is survived by his beloved wife Martha (Sands) Lovejoy, who he married December 16, 1972. Also surviving are his children: Wayne Lovejoy, Pearl (Muhammad) Ashkanani, and Donna Judge, his grandchildren: Jasim (Nelgie) Ashkanani, Hussein (Kaylyn) Ashkanani, Ali (Devona) Ashkanani, Christina (Bill) Douglas, and Angie Davis, as well as his great-grandchildren: Ali, Muhammad, and Billy, his brother Kenny Lovejoy, along with generations of nieces and nephews.
Brownie was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert English, his brothers: Rev. Everett (Geneva) Lovejoy, Harry (Emogene) Lovejoy, Rexford Lovejoy, William (Opal) Lovejoy, Frankie (Sadie) Lovejoy, Johnny Lovejoy, and his sister Mary Stanley.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with funeral services officiated by Reverend Michael Cline at 11:00 AM at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
