Wendell Ben Marks

Wendell “Ben” B. Marks, 85, of Ravenna passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2023.

Ben was born in Akron, Ohio to parents George John and Nola Lee (Hughes) Marks. He had worked at Flintkote Co. in Ravenna then retired from Rootstown Schools where he was employed as a custodian.

Ben was a loving husband to his deceased wife Mamie Lee “Tootie” (Konkle) and never gave up that love after her passing, missing her every day. He loved baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians and also Browns football. In his younger days, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. After retiring, he loved to watch old westerns and comedy movies on TV. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard.

Ben is survived by his daughter Deborah “Debbie” Lee (Rodney) Harding and his son John Marks. He also leaves his grandchildren Mike (Krissy) Widuck, Deanna Widuck and Jennifer (Mario) Makris. Great-grandchildren Reagan Widuck, Easton Widuck, Eliana Makris and one on the way also survive Ben.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mamie, his parents and his siblings Kevin Berry and Barbara Ferguson.

Family will receive friends at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. Ravenna, on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 10am until the 11am funeral service. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
