Judith Ann (Oprea) Soldorfen

She was born May 12, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Nicholas and Lucretia (Guira) Oprea. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a teller of stories, and a keeper of secrets. You could talk to her about anything and not feel judged, just accepted and loved and supported. She spent her whole life giving of herself...giving her time, her love, her money, her everything.

Her first job was an Information Operator for Ohio Bell. Judy was a real estate agent when she moved to Ravenna, and was an active member of the local “Welcome Wagon.” She retired from Akron City Summa Hospital where she worked for many years as an operating room secretary.

Judy was a devoted lifetime member of Buna Vestire Romanian Orthodox Cathedral, and proud of her Romanian heritage. She was a past president of the church’s Women’s Auxiliary and helped with Sunday School and church dinners. She was also a member of the Kent Garden Club.

Judy was an avid reader. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Judy loved to travel with her husband George and all of her trips with family. Above all, Judy loved her family.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Soldorfen, her daughter Becky Soldorfen Brumley, and brothers Nick and John Oprea.

Judy is survived by her daughter Julianne (Raju) Srirama and Gregg (Claudia) Soldorfen, and her brother Dan (Denise) Oprea. Her grandchildren affectionately called her Nana/Neena, and she will be dearly missed by them all: Dréshon, Drék, Nathan, Keatton, Katie, Anjali, and Avani, as well as her great-grandchildren: Madeline, Matilda, Micah, Kilah, and Dréshon Jr.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St., Ravenna, with Saracusta wake services at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be celebrated by Reverend Fr. Ion Gherman on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
