John F. Urnick

John was born in Avella, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1939 to parents Thomas and Dorothy (Holt) Urnick.

Survived by longtime friend and companion, Sandra Cox, and sons John, Rich & Joe, daughters Kandie & Heidi, stepdaughters Elisabeth & Crystal and numerous grand kids and great grandkids.

He was an avid sports fan and could been seen at every Ravenna Ravens football game since 1980 and followed the Mount Union Purple Raiders football team wherever they played, mainly because he liked the way they win football games and up by 30 points by half time. He could not say that about his next favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

His favorite joke was, “if he was to ever die, sue the Steelers, because of all the stress they put him through while watching a game”. Hobbies he enjoyed included Golf, a lot of golf, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. John was an all-around great guy to hang out with. He will be missed by everybody who knew him.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Monday, November 4, 2024, for a Celebration of his Life from 4pm until 6pm. Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Gary Beck, will begin at 6pm.
