Herbert L. Smith

He was born January 7, 1930, in Washington, Pennsylvania, a son of the late David R. and Lillian (Caine) Smith. Herb formerly resided in Newton Falls, Ohio for 27 years and Clearwater, Florida for 24 years. He retired from Republic Steel in Warren, was a member of the First Church of God in Newton Falls, the Bayside Community Church of Safety Harbor, Florida, and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Herb was a hardworking individual who was dedicated to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Phyllis “Joanne” (McVehil) Smith; and his three loving daughters: Deanna (Randolph) Davey of Jacksonville, NC, Elise (Larry) Booher of Warren, and Denise (Mark) Davis of Niles. Herb is also survived by his sisters Ruth Layshock and Helen (Edwin) Ballas both of Newton Falls, as well as his 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his brothers Donald, Wilbur, Howard, and Arthur Smith.
