He was born October 25, 1931, in Napa, California, to parents Howard and Alpha Wilson. Ed graduated from Sesser High School in Illinois in 1949 then enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. He married his beloved Jane Jacoby in 1954, and they recently celebrated 69 years of marriage.
Ed was a faithful Christian and member of Victory Baptist Temple in Brimfield. He served as a deacon at his church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years in other area churches. Ed loved to play and coach basketball, baseball, and softball and spent many years enjoying his grandchildren as they played various sports. He also loved gardening and reading.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife, Jane, and four children: Debbie Hamilton (Dell), Eddie Wilson Jr. (Jeanne), Cindy Siciliano (Tom), and Pam Ritenour (Scott), his grandchildren: Dell Hamilton III, Eddie Wilson III, Heather Calhoun, Tommy Siciliano Jr., Kylie Horne, Levi Wilson, Joey Siciliano, Courtney Ritenour, Jared Ritenour, great-grandchildren: Skyler, Marissa, Logan. Gavin. Titus, Jenna, Maddox, Dominic, Loukas, Grayson, as well as his brother Arthur Wilson.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, Vivian and Doris, and grandchildren Rebecca and Dakota.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Whetsel on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow with full military honors at Grandview Memorial Park. In lieu of gifts and flowers, please consider a donation in Ed’s memory to Victory Baptist Temple in Brimfield.
