Doris E. Boyer

Doris was born January 10, 1934 in Alabama, daughter of late Charles and Betty (Gallo) Harrell.

She was raised on a farm and attended schools in Rootstown, Ohio, where she graduated from in 1952. The farm is where she met Leonard V. Boyer, whom she married on May 28, 1952 and enjoyed 41 years of marriage until his death in 1993. They moved to St. Rt. 183 in Atwater, Ohio. It is there they raised their five children and grandchildren.

They also opened, owned and operated Boyer's Drive Thru for over a decade. Upon their children starting school, she worked at D-Con in Alliance, Ohio for over 20+ years. After retirement, she moved to Louisville, Ohio. She chose to work at Big Lots in Hartville for over 10 years after retirement.

She loved to read romance novels, spend time with family and travel with her sister, Judy. Doris was loved by many and known to all as "Grandma".

She leaves one sister, Judy Tewell of PA, three sons and one daughter, Lucinda Miller of Kent, Kenneth Boyer of Atwater, Robert (Beverly) Boyer of Akron, Jeffery (Amy) Boyer of Atwater, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, "JR" (Leonard Boyer Jr), grandson Steven Myers, sisters Rosmarie Priebe, Betty Eichel, Barbra Hamilton and brother Lawrence Harrell. Doris was a loving mother, grandma, great and great-great grandma, sister and friend to many. She will be dearly missed.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service, officiated by Pastor Roy Teague, will be held at noon at Atwater Cemetery on Friday, February 23, 2024. Inurnment will follow. Celebration of her Life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 24, at the Friendship Bible Church, 1703 St. Rt. 44, Randolph, Ohio, 44265.
