Carl’s main career was truck driving. He was the owner and operator of many trucking companies, including Southeast Trucking, Charter Express Inc., and National Trucking Inc. Carl was also a consultant for Conway Freight and Progressive Insurance Company.
Throughout his entire career, Carl was an active member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 348. He served as a trustee for the Teamsters and was instrumental in forming an interstate agreement. Carl was a past president and Hall of Fame member of the Ohio Trucking Association, as well as a member of the ATA.
He was also active in his community. Carl served as a member of the Southeast School Board, Palmy Chapter #114 of Order of Eastern Star, Charity Lodge #530 of F&AM, and the Ravenna Elks Lodge #1076. Carl proudly served in the National Guard and the US Army. He later joined the American Legion in Akron.
