He was born August 2, 1956, in Manchester, Kentucky, to parents Truman and Lillian (Blair) Cody. Carl retired from the Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg after 30 years of employment as a press operator, and was a member of UAW Local 122.
Carl enjoyed life. He loved cruising around in his Corvette and maintaining his meticulous lawn at his home. He was also a hardcore Cleveland Browns fan, never wavering his loyalty throughout their ups or, mostly, downs.
He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, especially at his home in Newport Richey, Florida. Many days were spent playing volleyball in the pool, riding bikes through town, or enjoying a slice of Key Lime Pie from Gandy’s.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Beverly (Pemberton) Cody, son Russel (Beth) Main of Sun City, CA, daughter Deanna Schaffer of Elkton, MD, and brother Bill (Nancy) Cody of Manchester, KY, as well as his best friend Stew Bryant, and close cousins Donnie and Mike Root. Carl was the proud grandfather of: Samantha Main, Kyle Schaffer, Josh Wolford, Matt Wolford, Alexandria Main, and Nickolas Main, along with great-granddaughter Vada Wolford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Brenda. Carl loved dogs, and they all loved him as well. He is now greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by his dear Sampson, GiGi, and Xena.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Special thanks to the staff of Crossroads Hospice for the care given to Carl. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
