She and dad were high school sweethearts and were married on May 10, 1952 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, Ohio. This would have been their 66th wedding anniversary. Dad left us in September of 2016.
Barbara was bon to Helen (Knapp) Kline and Joseph Kline on October 8, 1932. Mom was one of 13 children. Born and raised in Ravenna, Ohio, she attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Ravenna High School. Dad built a home in Rootstown, Ohio where he and mom raised 5 children and where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Her greatest treasure was her family. Her children include Becky (Dan) Bailey of Deerfield, Beverly (Deral) White of Freedom, Bill (Chris) Kline of Rootstown, Kathy (Dave) DeSalvo of Rootstown and Janet (Dale Mickley) Vair of Rootstown. She has 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom she treasured. Mom is also survived by her brother James Kline of Rhode Island and Rita (Kline) Starkey of Texas.
From the time she graduated from Ravenna High School, mom worked at the Record-Courier newspaper and for many years. She later went on to work for Kent State University in Kent, Ohio where she retired. Mom enjoyed traveling, playing cards, knitting and painting where many of her pictures hang in the homes of her family. Mom’s faith in God was a vital part of her life. She was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown where she was involved with Altar and Rosary. Later she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she participated in the choir.

We would like to thank Davita Dialysis Center of Ravenna for the care they gave to mom. Also, thank you to the Hospice Center of the Western Reserve, for helping us to care for mom which allowed her to stay at home till her final hour. Mom’s life was full of love for her faith, family and friends, but the best gift was being embraced by dad on their anniversary, May 10, 2018.
