Wilton McLean Davis

Wilton was born June 21, 1926 in Wilson County to the late George Turner Davis and Ida Lee Barnes Davis. He was a veteran of the US Army and managed a grocery business for many years. Wilton was a member of Longview Baptist Church in Raleigh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norene Kidd Davis, and his daughter, Patricia Davis Faircloth.

He is survived by his son, Wilton McLean Davis II of Asheboro, NC, grandchildren Christopher Davis of Atlanta, GA; Kaitlyn Davis of Lanesville, IN; Monica Faircloth of Raleigh, NC; Tracy Adams of SC; and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Burial will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Wilton and Norene.
