William "Bill" Marvin Gardner

William (Bill) Marvin Gardner, 74 of Raleigh NC, passed away peacefully, September 4, 2013, at his home after a battle with cancer. Bill was born on March 18, 1939 in Greenville, NC, the son of the late Henry Marvin and Elizabeth Peel Gardner. Bill is survived by his wife Betty Rackley Gardner, sisters Gail Kelly and Jean Russ, husband Kenneth, son William Michael Gardner, daughter Lorri Gardner Adams, granddaughters Stacy and Lindsey Gardner, Stepchildren Scott, Mark and Tim Pace, wife Monica, and April Harris, husband Mike, step-grandchildren Joshua and Caleb Harris, Katlyn, Skylyn, Christian, Seth, Jackson, Isabella and Vivian Pace, many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Bill graduated from Greenville High School in 1957, and attended East Carolina University in the School of Business; he remained a die heart pirate fan. Bill had a successful career in sales winning numerous sales awards. Most important to him was his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, September 8, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Road in Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Pinewood Cemetery in Greenville, NC following the funeral service with Reverend Preston Heath, officiating.
