Vera Joyce Hill

Vera Joyce Hill, 81, passed away May 18, 2011 after fighting Alzheimer's for more than six years. She was born July 25th, 1929 in Danville, Virgina to Elbert H. Wilson and Lela B. (Harrison) Wilson. She loved her only sister, Virgina Geraldine Pitts. After attending Washington Missionary College, Vera married Charles Piatt Hill, Jr. (deceased) on June 10th, 1948. Vera and Charles lived in several states including California, Alabama, and North Carolina. They raised five children: Pat Alden, Charles Hill, Nancy Green, Caleb Hill, and Penny Beihl. Vera loved her twelve grandchildren. She attended the Franklinton Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she enjoyed working and singing. She also enjoyed drawing and writing poetry. Vera was blessed to live with and have excellent care from two of her daughters, Penny Beihl and Pat Alden. The visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, May 27th with the funeral following at 10:30 am.
