Tom was born on May 31, 1949, the eldest son of the late Lloyd and Mildred Trinks of Marion, NC. He graduated from McDowell High School in 1967 and attended Western Piedmont Community College, where he received an Associates Degree. Tom moved to Raleigh in 1974 and began working for the State of North Carolina as an electrician. Tom retired after 30 years of service. Upon retirement, Tom worked for the Home Depot in Cary and Bulk TV in Raleigh.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Ramona Connor and her husband Alan, of Raleigh; son, John Trinks, and his wife, Jessica of Durham; daughter, Jasmine Trinks-Reese, and her husband, Kevin of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Ryan Connor, Sierra Connor, Bastain Trinks, and Eowyn Trinks; brother, Jerry Trinks of Marion, NC.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Arritola, of Medford, OR.
Tom enjoyed singing choral music and participated in several choirs over the years, where he was known for his enthusiastic singing and beautiful bass voice. He enjoyed raising poultry and sold eggs in his Johnston County community.
The family will have a private memorial service, with burial of Tom’s ashes in Raleigh Memorial Park.
