Susan Lamoreaux

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sibyl Lamoreaux and survived by her sister, Sharon May; sons, Ethan and Kieran Lamoreaux; daughter-in-law, Lex Lamoreaux; niece, Lauren May; nephew, Mac May; and niece by heart, Jen Pierce; plus her favorite dogs, Delilah, Lillith, Storm, and Martha (and the family cats, too).

Susan was born in Dallas, Texas but made her home in Raleigh since she was 10 years old. She was a proud graduate of UNC-CH, go Heels, and was retired from a 30+ year career as a high school and YMCA swim coach and Aquatics Manager at Optimist pool in Raleigh.

She was thoroughly enjoying her retirement as an avid Hurricanes fan and lavishing her big love on her sons and daughter-in-law and filling her sister’s house with noise and laughter. She had the biggest heart on the planet and never met a stranger.

Our world is suddenly way too quiet.

A memorial mass will be held in her honor at 1 pm on Friday, December 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 11401 Leesville Rd, Raleigh NC 27613, followed by a reception at The Kitchen Table at Relish, 5629 Creedmoor Rd. Raleigh NC 27612.
