Norma was born to David Arthur Davis and Leona Clark Davis on February 26, 1941 in Daviess County Indiana. After graduating from Montgomery High School she became a licensed beautician. In 1961 she married John Franklin Sturgeon.
Norma was a hard worker and held many unique jobs in her life. Among them was switchboard operator for the Daviess County Hospital and dispatcher for the Orange Beach Police Department, Orange Beach Alabama. For more than 20 years, Norma was employed as Property Manager for Personal Security Storage in Raleigh, NC. PSS became a job she enjoyed and her place of residence; there she made countless friends and was loved. She had customers that regularly came just to talk to her about their lives and seek her guidance. She made time for all of them.
Throughout her life Norma was a beacon of joy to everyone she met. She faced every day with an unyielding spirit. She was the first to smile and always the last to complain. She enjoyed a funny story, a tidy house, and a freshly cut lawn. She had many furry children over the years and immensely enjoyed their companionship. She was the best of “Dog Moms”. Her thirst for life could be seen in how she cared for and elevated those around her. No words can truly express how much she’ll be missed.
She is survived by son Wade Sturgeon (fiancé Dawn Sparks); granddaughter Stacey Harris; great-grandchildren Ava and Hayden Clark; daughter Kristin Goodwin; grandchildren Darin Weaver, David (Devon) Weaver; great-grandson Maxwell Weaver; Brother Donald (Betty) Davis; sister Louidean Dillion; sister-in-law Trudy Davis; brothers-in-law Edward (Linda) Sturgeon and Leslie (Beverly) Sturgeon.
