Necia Fay Lawson

Mrs. Lawson was born August 19, 1938 in Marion, Ohio to the late Clytina Huntsman and Claude Vance. She was raised and educated in Galion, Ohio. Necia, or “Bird”, as she was known to her grandchildren, brought endless amounts of laughter to her entire family. She loved to spoil all of her grandchildren, and was a master of jigsaw puzzles. Always looking at the glass as half empty, her unique sense of humor will be missed.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, Necia is survived by her daughter, Darcy Talbert, and her husband, Joe, of Morrisville; sons, Mike Lawson, and his wife, Kathleen, of Raleigh, David Lawson, and his wife, Meredith, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Lana Lancaster, Tess Camp, Evan Lawson, Samantha Martin, Jacki Ostrowka, Joe Talbert, Jr., Madelaine Lawson, Tanner Lawson; and her great-grandchildren, Juliet Camp, Lilliana Martin, James Camp, Archer Lancaster, Jolene Camp, Annalee Ostrowka, Maverick Martin.

Necia was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Leann, and her brother, Randall.

A Graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in Raleigh Memorial Park. Officiating was Rev. Craig Gaither. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network Foundation. Please use the link below under ‘donations’.
