Nancy would like to let you know her work here is done. She received a call, of sorts, that she couldn’t refuse. This assignment comes with great benefits, a significant sign on bonus, a spectacular reunion with family, friends that she has not seen in a very long time. She accepted this offer February 28, 2021.
Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 30, 1937. She was preceded death by her parents Leo and Ethel Rambacher of Pittsburgh, PA. as well as her brothers, Harry "Buzzy" Rambacher, Robert Rambacher and nephew, Father Francis Mossholder. She leaves behind a large extended family, Linda and Rich Gurka of Mechanicsburg PA, Jan Rambacher-Rochez and Richard Rochez of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert Rambacher of Pittsburgh PA, Thomas and Christine Rambacher of Rhode Island, John Rambacher of Rhode Island, Ann Mossholder-Johnson and John Johnson of Kinston of NC; Great nieces and nephews, Christy and Jeremy Keeley, Jamie and Daniel Reeder, Christopher Rochez, Erik and Kayla Rambacher, Keri Rambacher, Casey and Tyler Lamont, Billie “Allie” Greer. She has 5 great great nieces and 3 great great nephews.
Her long professional career consists of:
• Earning a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA followed by attaining a Masters degree in Psychology and Counseling from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA
• 1960-1967 Classroom Teacher in Pittsburgh, PA
• 1967-1974 Counselor, Assistant Dean of Students, Chairman of Education Dept, and Assistant
Professor of Education and Psychology at Stratford College in Danville, VA
• 1974-1977 North Carolina Department of Human Resources Division Youth Services
• 1977-1997 Wake County Public Schools- Raleigh, NC. Counselor for Millbrook High School, Athens Drive High School, East Wake High School
She enjoyed bowling, golf, tennis, softball and volunteering at the church and with Special Olympics. She enjoyed activities with “The Group” and loved Pittsburgh.
She touched and impacted many lives from sponsorship, God Mother, educator, counselor, and loyal friend.
Nancy will always be remembered as a strong, independent, feisty, and special woman. As she would often say, “I survived damn near everything!”
Services will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 2718 Overbook Dr. Raleigh, NC 27608. Visitation will be held at the Church starting at 2:00 PM followed by a mass of Christian burial at 3:00 PM Presiding over the service with be Reverend Thomas S. Tully
