He was a gifted musician, artist, and metal worker. His artisan knives have been sought globally by collectors who quickly became friends. He loved engaging with people and taught kindness in a very unique way, always looking at life through a humorous lens with every encounter ending in laughter or a cheeky comment. He also loved animals, especially the wild ones. Michael was a huge presence and he was definitely someone no one could ever forget.
As his beautiful niece Sarah Hoffman perfectly stated, “He was a man whose voice could be heard in every corner of a room. His laughter rang through your ears like a joyful song. He had a smile that was infectious and a spirit that could not be broken. His honesty, creativity, loyalty, and love, knew no bounds. Life without him will be less bright, but as long as we hold onto his fun loving energy, he will never truly be gone from our lives. What a curse it is to love someone so deeply that it hurts this much to lose them.”
Mike is survived by his daughter Erin Fleming, his sister Susan Hoffman, his niece Sarah Hoffman, and his nephew Baron Hoffman Jr.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie Fleming, his father, Eugene B. Fleming, and his beloved nephew, Joshua Hoffman.
