Max was born in Cary to Karen and Richard Lucas. He attended Enloe High School, graduating in 2017. While at Enloe, Max played football, participated in the high school’s news program, and represented his school at the Mid-west Regional Emmy awards, where he won an award for On-Air Talent. He also wrote and performed his original plays, The Crossaint and The Croissant II, as part of a writer’s workshop.
Max received his Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University, graduating in 2021, where he was an associate producer of Up Late at App State, Season 10, and wrote and produced Appalcart, The Live Performance. Max was an avid football fan of the Mountaineers, Coastal Carolina, and New England Patriots. He was employed as a Project Manager for GameScribes, dedicating himself to solving the unique challenge of localizing video games and other electronic entertainment.
In addition to his parents, Max is survived by his fiancée, Jillian Kucic; grandmothers, Adrianne Lucas and Betty Ebanks; the Hager family of Raleigh; his pets, Comet, Henry, Lemon, and Radar; and numerous friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home.
