Mary Smith Price

Mary Smith Price, 86, of Raleigh NC passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday April 20, 2012, at her home in the The Heritage of Raleigh. She was born on April 24, 1925 in Albertson, NC, to the late Henry Lee and Eliza Grady Smith.

Mary enjoyed spending time at the beach, playing Bridge with her girlfriends, Garden Clubs, sewing and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She also cherished her church, Hayes Barton Baptist Church, in Raleigh.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Patrick Price; sisters, Martha Bobbitt, of Rocky Mount, NC, and Shirley Smith and brother, Allen Smith, of Albertson, NC; and brother-in-laws, Rocky Rochwick, of Atlanta, GA, and Bill Smith, of Pink Hill, NC.

She is survived by son, Brian Patric Price and wife, Barbara, of Raleigh and Carolina Beach, NC; daughter, Lyle Sheppard, and husband Jim, of Wake Forest, NC, Lynne Moore and husband Dr. George Moore, of Raleigh, NC, Phyllis Hinson and husband John, of Raleigh, NC; and grandchildren, Justin Hayes, Jarrett Hayes, Drew Moore, Patrick Moore, Mary Ashlyn Moore, Bradley Letts and Taylor Letts.

Her family will receive friends on Monday April 23, 2012, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
