Mary Pappas

Mary Pappas, 88, of Cary, NC, passed away peacefully among family on May 30th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, sister Dorothy, and her parents Paolina and Vito. Mary is survived by her 4 children, Diane, Mary Ellen, Rosemarie, and John as well as her loving sister, Edith. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The values she instilled in her children will live on in their children, among them independence, love and kindness.

Mary was instantly loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to meet her. She had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, and a comforting spirit. She dedicated her life to her family and spent much of her days talking and laughing with friends and family. If she called you, pull up a chair and put a pot of coffee on, because you were going to have a long, wonderful conversation!

Mary was artistic and loved to draw. Her family is fortunate to have many of her artistic endeavors as gifts to remember her by. She was also known for her love of fashion. She was always put together and made sure her children and grandchildren were too. Because of Mary, we all have matching socks for every outfit.

Mary loved living at Stone Ridge. She was a popular resident who always made time to go to meals, participate in activities, and attend mass even when she wasn’t feeling her best.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating trees to the Arbor Day Foundation to have trees planted in one of our national forests.

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at 11:00am on Monday, June 6, 2022 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cary, followed by a graveside ceremony at Raleigh Memorial Park.
