Mary Ellen Jackson, 75, of Raleigh, died on June 21, 2018. Mary Ellen received her Masters degree in early childhood education from Jersey City State in New Jersey. She was a member of the AKA- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was a teacher in Jersey City for over 30 years. When Mary Ellen was younger, she enjoyed playing basketball. She enjoyed watching basketball, football and old westerns on television. Mary Ellen truly enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Leroy Lincoln Jackson; her son, Leroy Lincoln Jackson, II; her grandchildren, Brianna, Samaya and Xavier Jackson; and her siblings, Douglas Clayton, Roger Clayton, Carolyn Bass, Juanita Clayton, Gladys Morris and Bessie Reynolds; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Bernice Clayton; and brother, Irving Clayton.
A graveside memorial will take place on Friday, June 29 at 11:00am at Raleigh Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, North Carolina.
