Lee was an exceptional man who was loved and respected by friends, family, and anyone who came in contact with him. Lee was born February 21, 1964 in Elizabeth City, NC to Robert I and Janet G Weathersbee.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Franklin Weathersbee, African Grey Parrot Milo, daughter Renee, granddaughter Alicia, sisters Lynn Williams and Rhonda Smith and husband Mark, aunt and uncle Marry Lee and Joe Green, nieces Sarah and Holly Smith, as well as his cousins Cheek Green, Carrie Hubanek, Kelly Green Hall, Danny and Mark Blow, and Donna Ollis.
From a young age, Lee was attracted to anything mechanical. He started his love of vehicles with a Big Wheel, followed by a Go Cart, Mini Bike, Dirt Bike, and eventually progressed to his Dodge Challenger, Dodge Super Bee, and “Dually” truck. His current passion had fallen to riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. As a member of the Raleigh Harley Owners Group (HOGS), Lee and his wife Sheila found extraordinary friends with whom they have travelled and shared many great memories. His times with the “HOGS” have been some of the happiest times of his life.
Lee was famous within his family for his creation of “CRAD” cards; a unique and individually designed Birthday Card. Receiving one of Lee’s CRADS was an honor. He was equally famous for his cooking, his specialties being his Banana Pudding and Birthday Cakes.
Lee graduated from Enloe High School and attended Wake Tech to prepare for a career in automotive technology and service. He was a valued employee at Chapel Hill Tire, where he served as the Service manager and diagnostician of all auto mechanic problems, great and small. His clients valued and respected his work and many became good friends along the way.
Lee should be remembered as a man of kindness, great integrity, and high standards. There was no problem large or small that Lee would not face and tackle.
His loss at the young age of 55 is tragic and will touch many. Lee’s final message to his family and friends would be to have fun and always cherish the people and relationships you have.
