Laura Shultz Edwards passed away unexpectedly on November 18,2021 at her home in Raleigh, NC at the age of 67. Born in Freeport, IL on June 29, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Roberta Shultz and wife of the late Horace Gales Edwards, Jr. until his passing in 2008.
Laura was active in church communities, the Red Hat Society, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was an avid reader and dog lover. She also enjoyed the occasional music-filled road trip to visit Midwestern relatives.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Shelley Shultz of Savage, MN; stepdaughter Sibyl Hendley and husband Mark of Woodruff, SC and family; niece Courtney Juvland and nephew Mark Shultz (Angie) and their families. She is preceded in death by her sisters Cecilia, Mary, and Linda.
Laura will be laid to rest next to her late husband. Memorials in her memory may be made to The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, or to the SPCA of Wake County. The family will be arranging a Memorial Gathering later in 2022.
